The extremely talented and versatile son of Danzig won five of six starts, racing on dirt and turf and scoring from 5½ to 8½ furlongs. By the great sire and sire of sires, Danzig, High Demand is three-parts-brother to Champion and highly successful classic sire, Polish Precedent, and to the granddam of Champion and group/grade one sire, Intikhab.

The Danzig cross over mares from the Mr. Prospector line has been a prolific one with almost 150 stakes winners. Among Mr. Prospector line stallions which have worked well under Danzig are Afleet, Conquistador Cielo, Crafty Prospector, Fappiano (and his sons Cryptoclearance, Rubiano and Unbridled), Forty Niner, Gone West, Gulch, Machiavellian, Mining, Miswaki, Seeking the Gold and Woodman. Mr. Prospector is a Raise a Native line horse, and another son of that sire, and bred on similar lines to Mr. Prospector, is Alydar (who could be brought in through Alysheba, Easy Goer, Criminal Type, Turkoman and Strike the Gold, as well as Benchmark, who would give a 2 x 3 inbreeding to Danzig). Danzig has also worked well over Raise a Native through Exclusive Native and his son Affirmed

The Danzig/Blushing Groom cross has been a very successful one, producing more than 50 stakes winners, and working particularly well for High Demand’s three-parts-brother Polish Precedent. Sources of Blushing Groom which have worked well with Danzig line stallions include Rainbow Quest, Mt. Livermore (and his son, Housebuster), Rahy and Groom Dancer (and his son, Pursuit of Love). Blushing Groom could also be tried through Runaway Groom and his son, Cherokee Run.

Danzig and his sons have crossed extremely well with mares from the Turn-to line. From the Sir Gaylord branch he has enjoyed success with Sir Ivor, Habitat (sire of Habitony) and Lord Gaylord (sire of Lord Avie). From the Hail to Reason branch we can note mares from the lines of Roberto (including through Kris S., Lear Fan, Red Ransom and Silver Hawk); Halo (including through Devil’s Bag, a brother Saint Ballado); Stop the Music (including through Cure the Blues and Temperence Hill) and Mr. Leader.

Danzig and his sons have been excellent with mares descending from Ribot, this cross producing more than 70 stakes winners. Particularly good branches are Tom Rolfe/Hoist the Flag (particularly via Alleged); His Majesty (including through Cormorant, Batonnier, and Pleasant Colony and his son Pleasant Tap); and Graustark (particularly through Key to the Mint).

The cross of Danzig over Sharpen Up line mares is an extremely successful one, among the Sharpen Up sons who stood in U.S. Diesis and Trempolino. It could also be worth looking out for mares from High Demand’s own female line (that of Forli).
